Question: I, (meaning Huzoor Taajush Shari’ah) have been telephonically asked if a Saff (row) for Salaah is made to the left and to the right of the Mimbar breaks the Saff (Qatee-Saff)? Answer: Firstly, I deem it appropriate to quote a few words from the Fatawa of A’la Hadrat, Imaam Ahmad Raza Khan (Radi Allahu Anhu) as an introduction to this matter. Ala Hadrat (Radi Allahu Anhu) states: “Regarding the Saffs, there are three things which have been commanded and stressed by the Shari’ah. However, all three are nearly extinct (Ma’zallah) in the current time. This is the reason why disunion is rampant amongst Muslims." |
